De Palo was created in the late 90’s, it is Isabel’s oldest collection. At the time, Mexican architecture was strongly influenced by the Guadalajara-born architect Luis Barragán. Isabel came up with the idea of creating luminaires that could blend with those serene and open spaces. The lamps have geometric silhouettes, straight lines, robust and natural materials (solid woodor stone) including parchment lampshades with visible leatherstitching. From cylinders or cubes, the light fixtures evolved and
became more complex. New material research was essential to cater to the needs of hospitality projects which required materials resistant to saltwater. The De Palo
line began offering strong fiberglass lampshades with linen finishes, in order to be more durable.
